Congratulations Dr. Cindy Greene

A partner at BGW Dental Group, Dr. Greene was recognized for her compassion and contributions to oral cancer patients and named Dentist of the Year.

The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Healthy Hall Awards of Excellence Program spotlighted the significant impact Cindy Fulenwider Greene, DMD, has had on the healthcare industry and in the lives of patients in the community, naming her Dentist of The Year.

As a part of the chamber’s Vision 2030 plan to be the healthiest county in Georgia, the group recognized healthcare professionals in 14 categories during a luncheon at the Brenau Downtown Center on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Dr. Greene was among several other dentists that were named Healthy Hall finalists last week, ultimately the chamber awarded her with Dentist of the Year.

“She’s donated over $250,000 of uncompensated dental care to allow cancer patients to have their dental needs addressed so they can begin chemo and radiation therapy to treat their head and neck cancers,” said David Miller, healthcare management professor at Brenau University and the event’s emcee.

Miller’s remarks noted that Dr. Greene received specialized training in oral cancer treatment, a skillset that makes her a valuable asset to both BGW Dental Group and the Gainesville/Hall County community.

“I always feel confident entrusting my patients to Dr. Greene knowing they will receive expert and compassionate care at their time of greatest need,” said Dr. Geoffrey Weidner, radiation oncologist at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

In accepting the award, Dr. Greene spoke about the joy of being raised in Gainesville/Hall County where she learned the importance of giving back and acknowledged the value in feeling supported in her pledge to making Hall County as healthy as possible.

“I’m very humbled and honored to receive this award,” Dr. Greene said. “We have a community with an extraordinary number of very competent and wonderful dentists, and it’s really an honor to be a part of that.”

She credited growing up watching her father, Tim Fulenwider, MD, “dedicate his heart and his soul and all of his hours to taking care of people. So if I attribute any success that I have in doing that in my life, I owe it to him and to my mom,” Dr. Greene said. “I really have to thank my office and my staff. They really are amazing and they’re the reason why I’m standing up here.”
